It’s nothing but empty promises by the Liberals over the Ring of Fire. That’s the assessment from Mike Mantha, the NDP’s mines critic and MPP for Algoma Manitoulin. Mantha says the largest company at the James Bay site, Cliffs Natural Resources, now calls the development a lost cause. Cliffs spent more than half a billion dollars in the earlier days trying to develop the site. Mantha adds a development board that was supposed to include industry and First Nations to advance the project still hasn’t done anything.
