It’s the end of the line for a Sudbury police officer charged and convicted under the Police Services Act. The Ontario Civilian Police Commission has upheld an earlier ruling to fire Sergeant Gary Lavoie for charges like neglect of duty and insubordination. Lavoie had been a police officer for almost 30 years. His police chief says it’s disappointing when people charged with the duty of upholding the law become law breakers themselves but adds justice has been served.
