The sign marking the site of the Espanola Police Service has been taken down and the OPP are not wasting time in renovating the downtown building.
At six pm Thursday night, the Espanola Police Service ceased to exist.
The sign was removed within minutes and OPP transition staff were handed over the keys to begin the renovation process, since the station will become a satellite office for the Espanola OPP.
The facility will undergo renovations between October 11th and November 9th and is closed for that period of time.
Under the transition agreement, Espanola taxpayers will pay for the renovations, not only on Centre Street, but also at the main detachment in McKerrow.
