A section of Highway 542 on Manitoulin remains closed as the result of a sink hole. The hole is three kilometers west of Mindemoya and about the size of a motor vehicle. The thaw over the weekend coupled with rain washed out a section of the roadway mid afternoon Monday. Although efforts are underway to repair the damage, it’s not known when the highway will re-open. However OPP have set up a detour to get around the closure.
