Espanola water swabbing/flushing program underway

Swabbing main water lines will be done during the night by Espanola Public Work crews. The swabbing will start today, Monday until Thursday.

The swabbing will take place from 9:00pm until 5:00pm and those affected are advised to shut down their main water lines overnight.

Then, crews will begin flushing lines throughout the municipality next Monday, September 24th until October fifth of so.

Some residences and businesses will experience dirty water, so open your cold water until it runs clear.

Swabbing lines will take place from Mead Blvd to the Queensway Avenue to Spanish River Drive on Monday, September 17th.

Secondary streets will be done the rest of the week until Thursday.

Turn off your main water lines overnight to avoid swab material blocking your line.

Then, turn on your cold water and run it until the water is clear.

If you experience low water pressure, call Public Works.

Flushing lines begins next Monday in Espanola.

Stay tuned to The Moose 99.3F CJJM – Espanola for streets being flushed.

You do not have to turn off your water line, but flushing may cause temporary discolouration of water, loss of pressure and, at times, no water. Refrain from doing laundry at least 24 hours after flushing. Run your cold water until it runs clear.

If you experience continuing problems, call Public Works.

Iron Out Rust Remover is also available from Public Works.
