Espanola Mayor Ron Piche apologized to staff and council at the regular meeting.
Piche was cited in a recent Integrity commissioner report as not maintaining control over council and being abrasive and rude with his commentary at times.
Piche says he apologized at Tuesday’s council meeting for the code of conduct violations to the staff and the disrespectful tone he used towards council at meetings during his term.
He also acknowledges that he failed to observe order and decorum at the meetings, but adds he has investigated what his responsibilities and rights are as a mayor and promises better control.
