Elliot Lake council sworn in

It’s down to business now for the new Elliot Lake council. The mostly rookie squad will hold its first full council meeting next Monday after being sworn in Monday night. The community turfed most of the incumbents in last month’s election returning only one councillor from the previous term. New mayor Dan Marchisella is asking the community to support the new council as it tries to drive the town forward. Marchisella is the first mayor of the community born in Elliot Lake. Another first is that half of the six councillors are women.
