Officers from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the OPP were out in full force to keep the roads and waterways safe over the Labour Day long weekend.
From Friday to Monday, police laid a variety of charges including: 62 speeding; three for excessive speed; seven for seatbelt infractions; one distracted driving; two careless driving and one impaired charge.
OPP officers conducted several hours of RIDE checks and marine patrols.
There were no fatalities on the highways, waterways and trails in the Manitoulin-Espanola catchment area.
