Gravelle heading to WW2 cemetery sites in Italy

The MP for Nickel Belt leaves this Saturday for Europe to take part in a ceremony commemorating Canada’s World War Two campaign in Italy. Claude Gravelle will visit three Italian cemetery sites that house the bodies of Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in various campaigns. Gravelle says he normally doesn’t take part in overseas affairs, but the time of year plus the recent shooting in Ottawa on Parliament Hill and the National War Memorial changed his mind. More than 2,400 Canadian soldiers are buried at three Italian sites. Gravelle says Northerners with a relative who died in the Italian campaign, can call his office and he’ll try and find the gravestone so he can pay his respects. The three cemetery sites are Cassino, Moro River and Villanova.
