LED street light conversion underway in Elliot Lake

Elliot Lake’s conversion to LED street lights is well underway. The city is switching more than 1,100 street lamps and once complete it will save the community 67 percent in energy costs. Real-Term Energy is providing and installing the lights at no cost to the city. It will be reimbursed for its expenses by cost-sharing the money Elliot Lake saves on energy. Even after the community pays its share of the equipment, it will still be ahead by 19 percent. Elliot Lake is one of 80 communities in Ontario to use Real-Term’s services.   Blind River and Espanola have already switched to LED’s with Real-Term’s help.
