Algoma school principals hear more about restorative approach

The Algoma District School Board is moving ahead with a restorative approach program at its schools. Under it, schools examine the needs and views of victims and offenders involved in incidents. The program is being used in Southern Ontario and the board is bringing up a principal from the York Regional school board to talk about it. Steve Young introduced restorative approaches in several schools in York Region and he’ll talk to Algoma principals about it. He’s had good success with the concept and is now creating a board-wide strategy for the York board.
