Discovering some of the oldest rock formations on earth is the focus of the Elliot Lake & Area Geology Tour, and is open to everyone.
The two tours, hosted by the city’s tourism group, will be held August 16th and 17th and will include stops along Hwy 108, north to Flack Lake and Mississagi Provincial Park for a picnic lunch.
There are only 30 spots available on each tour, which start at 9:00am.
The cost is $25 per person and advanced registration is required.
START TIME: Leaving from the Civic Centre at 9:00am. END OF TOUR: Approx. 3:00pm
TRANSPORTATION- Is provided (School Bus)
REQUIRED ATTIRE: Hiking boots or solid footwear (suggest long pants & sleeved shirt; hat & sunscreen)
LUNCH:Â A Picnic lunch at Mississagi Provincial Park (included in price)
COST OF TOUR: $25.00/person
REGISTRATION:Â The Welcome Centre Reception at the Civic Centre will be accepting advance bookings for the tour. Advanced registration will be required, and the last date to register will be Tuesday August 14th, 2018.
