The restricted fire zone in the northeast has been greatly expanded and now extends to Renfrew, and takes in Lake Superior Provincial Park, Wawa, Parry Sound, Algonquin Park and up along Highway 11 to Abitibi Canyon.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says it’s an attempt to reduce the number of human-caused forest fires.
The restriction means portable charcoal barbeques and Hibachis are prohibited unless you’re at an organized campground.
Also you’ll have to check with the campground owner on what conditions you have to meet to have a campfire.
