Baby Malia doing well – treatments ongoing

Miracle baby, Malia Latendresse of Espanola ,is one month old, is doing well, but needs ongoing medical treatment for her spina befida.

The daughter of Alexcie Dillen and Dylan Latendresse, Malia was diagnosed before she was born and had surgery shortly after her birth.

Alexie says Malia will need a hip harness to mold her hips into their sockets and casting for her club feet.

She adds the ongoing treatment will require travelling to Toronto once a week for six weeks.

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction is being held by the Massey Legion August 17th to help the family offset costs not covered by support programs, To make a cash donation or provide items for the silent auction, call Kim at 822-9131 or Corinna at 869-8452.

The fundraiser runs from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, $10 per adult, $5 for ten and under. Dinner includes meat or meatless sauce with the spaghetti, garlic buns, salad, beverages and dessert. Homemade bread and cinnamon buns will also be for sale.
