Drag races in Elliot Lake … on your mark … get set … go!

Are you ready to rev it up?

The 19th Annual Northshore Challenge, billed as Northern Ontario’s biggest motorsport event, is set to go.

Thousands are expected to take in the drag race classic.

The action takes place on the tarmac at Elliot Lake’s Airport Dragway this weekend.

Features include the Northern Warrior Jet Car, the Wild Child Funny Car, the Science North “Feel the Rush”, Kids Bouncy Land, the Classic Car Show, Military Vehicles, the Shed Jammers in concert, the Big Rig Trucks Show’n Shine and Race, among others.

Tickets and passes are available at the Elliot Lake Welcome Centre on Highway 108.  There’s free return shuttle bus service from several downtown Elliot Lake locations including the Civic Centre to the drags at the airport on the south side of town. Gates open Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:00am.
