The Progressive Conservatives are demanding action on Ontario’s debt and deficit. The deficit is expected to hit $12.5 billion this year and the debt already tops $288-billion. Tory finance critic Vic Fedeli says Ontario’s financial situation is teetering. Fedeli’s call for action comes on the heels of an Ontario Chamber of Commerce report that finds the deficit is unsustainable. Fedeli says the chamber report shows that the Liberals have mismanaged the Ring of Fire. He says the chamber outlines the chromite discovery as a key priority for the province. But Fedeli says to this day the Liberals still haven’t asked the feds how they can help advance the project through infrastructure dollars. Soon the Liberals will deliver their Fall Economic Statement and Fedeli wants to know if that’s when they’ll announce action on the state of the union.
