No Doubt, Kids Love Softball

Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island hosted their First Annual Youth Softball Tournament with over 200 youth from ages 4 to 14 participating in two age divisions and a T-Ball exhibition game.

In the 7 to 10 year old division, 2 Can’s Clan of Espanola defeated ‘The Outsliders of Mindemoya to win the ‘A’ Division and the prestigious Lanktree Family Trophy.
In the ‘B’ Division Final, the Mini Hazards defeated the Water Bombers.

In the 11 to 14 year old division, The Chiefs defeated The Hittin Hillbillies to win the ‘A’ Division and the Prescott Family Trophy.
In the ‘B’ Division Final, the Mindemoya Seagulls defeated the M’Chigeeng Thunderbirds.

The two family trophies were sponsored by the Pearson Cup Committee to honour two local families for their dedication to softball.

The tournament was a fitting wrap up to the $240 000.00 upgrades done to the MIndemoya Ball Fields thanks in large part to the Toronto Blue Jays Care Foundation.
