Elliot Lake Caregiver Facing 59 Charges Including Fraud and Forgery

An Elliot Lake caregiver is facing 59 charges including theft, fraud and forgery.

East Algoma OPP began investigating what they say was the deplorable living conditions of an elderly man in Elliot Lake on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, 68-year-old Gisele Davis of Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with one count each of failing to provide the necessaries of life, criminal breach of trust and theft over $5,000, as well as 14 counts each of theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, making forged documents and using forged documents.

The accused is to appear in Sault Ste. Marie court on July 3rd.

The OPP believes there may be more people victimized in the area, so if anyone has any information, they are asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
