The flu can hit anyone but the groups most vulnerable are very young children, seniors and people with chronic medical problems. To book a flu shot in Algoma, call toll free at 1-800-469-2449. The health unit provides the shots but so do pharmacies and your physician. The health unit says if you come down with the flu, stay home so you don’t spread the virus to co-workers or friends. Above all don’t visit people in the hospital or long-term care homes if you have the flu because you’re sure to pass it on to them.
