Families are invited out to a picnic like gathering at the Massey Royal Canadian Legion #432.
Legion secretary, Doreen Ferguson, says the Legion is hosting a special occasion.
The Legion will dedicate some new benches as well as acknowledge the new war veterans on their war memorial.
Ferguson adds one of the veteran’s benches was donated by the Township of Sables-Spanish River, the other donated by a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous.
The day will start with a parade, flag-raising and rededication of the war memorial, which was relocated to the Legion about ten years ago, and the benches.
Ferguson says the rest of the day will be a lighthearted social including a barbecue and local talent under the tents.
Everyone is invited to attend on Saturday, June 9th at 11:00am.
