Highway 17 re-opens at Nairn

It took five hours, but by 10:00 p.m. Wednesday traffic was moving again on Highway 17 near Nairn Centre. The highway was closed around 5:00 p.m. after several vehicles collided. It’s not known yet if there were any injuries. We do know that part of the collision involved a transport losing its load of logs. Meanwhile the highway closure postponed a junior hockey game between the Blind River Beavers and Sudbury Nickel Barons. The game will be re-scheduled.
