Not counting this past weekend’s games, the Elliot Lake Wildcats have cracked the top 20 in junior hockey rankings across Canada. The Cats are in 18th spot. Ranked 10th best are the powerful Soo Thunderbirds. In other junior hockey news, the Wildcats are leading attendance in the NOJHL. The average turnout for a hockey game in Elliot Lake is 572. The Blind River Beavers, who have yet to win a game this season, are last in attendance with about 200 fans turning out for each game.
