Anishnawbek leaders from the Algoma-Manitoulin area will join their counterparts at the Aboriginal First Nations Leaders y Special Chiefs Assembly in Gatineau, Quebec.
Hundreds of First Nations leaders and other delegates are gathered today and tomorrow for the annual assembly.
Delegates will examine and discuss federal legislation that is being proposed or are underway, which impact First Nations.
The chief’s assembly will feature dialogue and discussion on legislation, and delegates will hear directly from federal cabinet ministers and federal party leaders.
As an AFN Assembly, resolutions relating to federal legislation can also be put forward for decision and direction.
