Search and Rescue units from across Ontario took part in a number of workshops, training sessions and more as part of the Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association Annual General Meeting.
North Shore Search and Rescue in Espanola hosted the three-day conference at the Anishnawbek Spiritual Centre on Anderson Lake, just south of Espanola.
Provincial President, Janelle Coultes, says the Ontario units put in over 75,000 in volunteer hours alone last year.
And, she says it is about 50/50 when it comes to female and male members adding many come from policing, firefighting or even national defence backgrounds
OSRVA is the governing body for the Ontario teams and works closely with police, fire and other emergency providers within each of the six OPP designated regions for Ontario.
