Day of Mourning in Elliot Lake and Espanola

Names were unveiled for the Day of Mourning in Elliot Lake and flags flown at half-mast at the Domtar mill in Espanola.

Each year, thousands of Ontarians are killed or injured on the job or die from work-related diseases.

The national Day of Mourning is held to commemorate them.

Five miner’s names were added to the Miners Memorial Wall in Elliot Lake and unveiled on Saturday.

Flags were flow at half-mast at Domtar in Espanola and wreaths laid in memory of those who lost their lives.
