Nurses Reach Deal With Algoma Public Health

Algoma Public Health Nurses and Nurse Practitioner members have reached a last-minute deal with their employer.

Ontario Nurses Association President Vicki McKenna, says the nurses are pleased to have reached a deal and look forward to continuing to provide their high-quality services.

The nurses, numbering around 50, are members of the Association.

They and Algoma District Health both held ratification votes within hours of reaching the settlement, and both voted to accept the new deal.

The new collective agreement includes wage increases, improvements in benefits and non-monetary gains.

It is retroactive to April 1, 2017 and expires April 1, 2021
