Algoma Public Health Nurses Contract Talks Continue

As a legal strike/lock-out date of April 26 approaches, Algoma Public Health Nurses and Nurse Practitioners are making a last-ditch effort to avoid being forced out on strike.

Ontario Nurses Association President, Vicki McKenna, says there have been four days of negotiations and two days of conciliation, and today, the association’s bargaining committee is in mediation with the employer.

The nurses have been working without a contract since April 1, 2017.
The nurses serve more than 114,000 residents including Elliot Lake, Blind River and North Shore corridor communities.
