Last Espanola OPP Costing Public Meeting

The final public meeting about possibly transitioning from municipal to provincial police provides an opportunity for people to ask questions and express opinions.

The meeting tonight will focus on the billing models, services and more presented by the Ontario Provincial Police

Two important figures will affect the final decision by council.

According to documents, transition costs including severance, will be just under $2.5 million and potential long-term savings of over $5.6 million switching to OPP.

Tonight’s meeting at the Espanola Legion is at 7:00 pm and will also be livestreamed at espanola.ca

Council is expected to make the final decision at next Tuesday’s regular council meeting.
