Fedeli hopes to curb drug abuse of Fentanyl patches

The Tory MPP for Nipissing is trying to take a bite out of the illegal sale of drugs in Ontario. Vic Fedeli has introduced a Private Members Bill that gives health care practitioners more control over Fentaynl patches. Fedeli says right now the patches are sold illegally for large amounts of money. Fedeli says abuse of this powerful medication is growing. Last May police in Barrie arrested eight people connected with a Fentanyl patch scheme with links to North Bay and Toronto. And more recently North Bay police charged a man who had 59 Fentanyl patches on him worth $23,000.
