Blind River mayor Sue Jensen says one of the town’s biggest challenges for the next while is upgrading existing infrastructure. Jensen is the last of our candidates we look at vying for the mayor’s job in Blind River. Jensen says because so many millions of dollars are required, it’s going to take a good while to complete this infrastructure work. She says one way of doing this though will be to build up reserves in the years ahead. And Jensen favours the pay as you go method as opposed to borrowing more money. Jensen adds what’s made it tough for communities to improve infrastructure is that senior governments have reduced grants for this work.
