Youth migration and infrastructure big issue for Solomon in Blind River

Alex Solomon who is running for mayor of Blind River says infrastructure is a major issue for the community. The problem is the town doesn’t have $4.3 million a year to spend on improving infrastructure for the next 10 years that’s called for in a report. Solomon says it’s going to take longer than 10 years. Solomon adds future councils will have to re-direct how money is spent. He says instead of erecting buildings above ground council may have to build underground by upgrading the infrastructure. Solomon says another problem facing Blind River and most northern communities is the out migration of young people. He says the north needs to hold a symposium on how to reverse this trend.
