Union Gas and Enbridge Gas have received approval from the Ontario Energy Board to decrease their rates for natural gas customers effective April 1st.
Residential customers who purchase natural gas from Union Gas will see a decrease of about $58 a year, for an annual average bill of $1,015 in North-Eastern Ontario.
Typical residential customers who buy their gas supply from Enbridge will see a total bill decrease of about five per cent, or $49 a year in the North.
As a result, their total annual bill will be about $902.
The decrease is primarily due to lower natural gas prices in North America and lower transportation costs.
