Elliot Lake’s talented troupe is off to the Ontario Festival following a triumph sweep of the QUONTA Festival held in the city last week.
The production, Tempting Providence, Elate’s entry for the competition, won for outstanding Music by Ponto Paparo; Outstanding Lighting Design; by Doug Robinson; Outstanding Actress – Kim Arnold; Outstanding Director – Murray Finn and Outstanding Production!
Jim Graham and David Black also received nominations in the Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor categories.
This will be the first time ELATE will be representing the QUONTA Drama Region at the THEATRE ONTARIO Festival in London Ontario, May 16 – 20.
Still with the story, Espanola Little Theatre also came home with awards.
Chris Cayen won an Adjudicator’s Award for Outstanding Novice Director and Michael Boivin won the award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role.
Sault Ste. Marie and Gore Bay troupes also competed.
