OPP agree to extend OPP costing deadline

The Ontario Provincial Police have agreed to a two-month extension requested by the Town of Espanola.

Back in January, council asked town staff to ask the OPP costing panel for a two-month extension to the March 20th deadline.

The OPP costing proposal was presented to council in September, 2 017 with a six-month deadline and at that time council was told there would be renovation costs to the OPP facility on Highway 17 and the Espanola Police Station on Highway 6.

It took the OPP four months to come up with a figure of just over $421,000.

The extension has been granted to May 20th.

Still with the story, a public consultation meeting to update the public is set for April 19th at 7:00pm at the Espanola Legion.
Anyone with questions can go to [email protected] where they will be answered by a police representative and posted on the town’s website.

This meeting will not be livestreamed.
