Moose FM now features the last of the mayoral candidates in Elliot Lake. The subject matter this week has been the delayed Pearson Plaza. Dan Marchisella is the one candidate running for mayor with no prior experience on council. Marchisella says he would never have chosen the Pearson Plaza land to build on because there are better spots in Elliot Lake. Marchisella believes a poorly framed contract between the city and the developer is why the plaza has been not been built. He says that’s not something that would happen with him as mayor. Marchisella says the contracts need to be examined very thoroughly. He says when he was part of the federal government he reviewed and made contracts that worked. Marchisella says council has signed other contracts over the years that have not been to the benefit of the community.
