Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Espanola folds

The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Espanola has ceased to exist.   President Pauline McColeman has turned in the group’s charter because there are only 13 members left.  McColeman says the number of volunteers isn’t enough to effectively run the auxiliary.  The Ladies Auxiliary was formed in 1936 and over the decades has donated to numerous organizations thanks to its fundraising efforts.  The auxiliary had $5,000 left and it’s given that money to the main Legion branch so it can buy a new water heater.
