College Boreal has introduced a new program aimed at serving the transportation needs of Northern Ontario. The college’s Timmins campus is now offering specialized training for truck drivers. Part of the training involves taking big trucks into forested areas so drivers learn how to maneuver the vehicles when hauling trees out of forests. An article in Macleans magazine last spring says there’s a critical shortage of drivers in the trucking industry.
