An Espanola boy has rung the bell declaring himself officially cancer free.
Kayli Bond, the mother of eight-year-old Blake Bond, says he rang the bell in early January adding it is fantastic news because it means Blake has hit a major milestone in his cancer treatment, which began nearly four years ago.

Kayli is cautiously optimistic though saying she prays the cancer doesn’t return.
She says Blake has blood tests every week at home in Espanola, goes to Sudbury every two weeks and is in Ottawa every month for close monitoring.
With the ongoing testing, the support of the public is much appreciated.
