Espanola council has given the go ahead for an engineering company to carry out a study of possible upgrades or construction at the local fire hall.
Council has agreed to hire McIntosh Perry to look at costs for either refurbishing the fire hall, adding to it or a new build.
The cost of the study is just under $34,000.
Council hope to have the results in the near future, since the 2018 budgeting process is also underway.
Council also has to decide when a pumper truck should be purchased to satisfy insurance and emergency plan requirements
