Earlier this week, The Moose announced Espanola was receiving $45,000 in funding for public transit, funds that come from tax dollars collected at the pumps.
However, Espanola does not have any public transit except for the care van that is used to transport seniors, so the funding will be used for operating costs.
The town has also received funds for a bigger van with accommodation or wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
That vehicle will be arriving in early 2018.
