Restoring power in the Espanola, North Shore and Manitoulin area took until 11:30am today.
According to the Hydro One Storm Centre, some 15,000 customers were without power this morning.
Some areas lost power around three, others shortly after five am.
The outage extends from Serpent River First Nation east to the French River and Killarney area.
No reason for the unplanned outage was given.

Due to the power outage, all schools on Manitoulin Island are closed for the day and no school buses are running.
However, buses continue to run in Espanola, North Shore and Sudbury and schools are open
