The North Shore is pulling together to help the family of 12-year-old Ethen McCutcheon of Spanish who was badly burned earlier this month.
On Sunday, December 3rd, Ethen and a friend went into the woods armed with all the makings of a great bonfire.
But, it got out of control and Ethen was burned badly on the left side of his body, the most severe on his left leg, left hand and right thumb.
Ethen was airlifted to Toronto’s Sick Kids hospital where he underwent surgery to relieve and sterilize his wounds.
The next several months are going to be especially difficult since he will require several more surgeries and rehabilitation, and he may not regain complete mobility in his left leg and hands.
A GoFundMe has been set up to assist the family with the costs associated with an extended stay at the hospital.
