Contrary to an earlier press release, the Elliot Lake Fire Fighters Food Drive was down again this year from last year.
Total food value received this year was $38,650, compared to $44,000 in 2016.
According to a release from the Elliot Lake Food Bank, this has been a trend over the past five years with the use of the bank rising yearly.
One positive note has been the monetary donations during this year’s Food Drive, up slightly from last year with $3,897 being donated compared to $3,133 last year.
The Moose had received inaccurate information in regards to the final total and apologizes for the error.
