Birch Island Holds 50th Anniversary of Admin

This weekend was a special one for the residents and supporters of Whitefish River First Nation.

The community of Birch Island came together to honour their own this Saturday paying special attention to the band’s administration staff.

With the band administration being 50 years young, the community celebrated with presentations to the staff and acknowledgement of their role in helping grow the First Nation.

Algoma-Manitoulin Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes also attended to offer congratulations on behalf of the federal government.

The day capped off with the annual Woodland Christmas Parade.
