Gélinas demands to know where promised PET scanner is

Yet another delay for a PET scanner in Sudbury has upset the local MPP.

Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas is demanding to know why the Wynne Liberals continue to let down the people of Northern Ontario by dragging out the wait for a PET scanner that has been promised since December 2015.
Gelinas says the local portion of funding has been raised, but it was reported last week that the timeline for the PET scanner at Health Sciences North has been delayed to 2019.
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is part of the holdup – having not yet issued approval for the PET project to go out to tender.

“Families need health care they can count on,” stressed Gelinas.
