MP Carol Hughes paid tribute to Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing’s small business community in Parliament including Elliot Lake.
“Small businesses are a vital part of our economy, but in northern communities they are even more important,” said Hughes to the House yesterday.
Hughes congratulated Chamber of Commerce award winners from Elliot Lake including Peter and Betty Seidel, who received the Red Briffett Award for Community Involvement.
Kapuskasing’s Simon and Louise Dubosq also received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“This week, the business community in Hearst will celebrate young entrepreneurs at the Gala Prix Panache, “added Hughes.
“They will also mark the 65th anniversary of Ted Wilson’s Men’s Wear and the Wilson Family who still run the business to this day.”
