If you plan on visiting Sudbury, watch out for a con artist pulling off a welfare scam. The man asks people to help him cash his welfare cheque by using their ATM. If they agree, the con artist hands over a sealed envelope and victims give him money from their account. In case you haven’t guessed, the envelope is empty. So far the crook has scammed two people, a 14-year-old boy and 20-year-old man, Sudbury police know about.
