Losses across the board for local NOJHL teams

It was back to back losses for the Espanola Express this weekend.

Noah Serre scored once and set-up two others to aid the Rayside-Balfour Canadians to a convincing 7-1 victory over the Espanola Express Saturday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at the Regional Recreation Complex.

Two tallies in each period helped the Soo Eagles get past the Express 6-2 Friday evening at the Regional Recreation Complex.

A Tyler Malpass tally 16:56 into the second period proved to be the difference maker as the Soo Thunderbirds slipped the Blind River Beavers 2-1 Saturday at the Blind River Community Centre.

And, the surging Powassan Voodoos got goals from six different skaters to propel them to their fifth consecutive victory, by holding on for a 6-4 decision Friday over a persistent Elliot Lake Wildcats side at the Powassan Sportsplex.
