Students at a Northern Ontario school will be surprised by a different kind of drill this week.
They don’t know when it is going to happen, but students at a Kirkland Lake school will be practicing a drill of a different kind; a lockdown and evacuation drill.
Kirkland Lake OPP have partnered with Kirkland Lake District Composite School to conduct a lockdown and evacuation drill sometime this week, but they are not saying when so it can be as realistic as possible for staff and students.
Police say the drill will enhance the emergency procedures and response by the police at the school by allowing for students and staff to respond appropriately during an emergency situation.
