Radiothon raises big bucks

The annual Moose FM radio radiothon in Elliot Lake was a big success.  The broadcast collected $8,500 for the local food bank and that’s up more than two thousand dollars over last year.  Two big volunteers were Don and Elaine Mcbean who are both over 80.  The McBeans stood outside the Moose studios, set up a toll booth on Ontario Avenue and collected $1,300 from passing motorists.  The food bank spends about $6,000 monthly on needy families.  It serves families in Elliot Lake, Blind River and the Serpent River area.
